This is a workshop to support professionals who deal with racism, classism, transgender/ heterosexism, ableism on the job. It validates the relationship between institutionalized isms and the loss of a positive and supportive work environment. How can we maintain our self-respect and confidence in light of oppressive reflections from colleagues, clients/patients, or the management? How can we listen across social positions of power in ways to set the stage for finding allies? When does antithetical bonding slip away from support and reproduce domination? How can we resolve our fears in ways that maintain who we know ourselves to be so that we can continue to be our professional self?
